Common Veterinary Emergencies Include

  • Trauma such as being hit by a car
  • Unconscious/loss of consciousness
  • Vomiting or diarrhea for more than 24 hours
  • Ingestion of toxic substance such as antifreeze, rat poison, pesticides, household cleansers or medication that wasn’t prescribed for the pet
  • Signs of extreme pain,  such as shaking or whining
  • Sudden collapse or inability to stand up
  • Tender, swollen abdomen with gagging and attempts to vomit
  • Injury to eyes and/or sudden blindness
  • Lacerations/wounds
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Bleeding
  • Appearance of broken bone
  • Object stuck in throat
  • Seizures
  • Difficulty urinating
